ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL

The systems in a home that provide Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning are referred to as HVAC Systems. They include:

  • Mechanical Equipment for doing the actual heating and cooling
  • Controllers such as Thermostats and Zone Controllers
  • Remote Sensors, for supplying feedback to the controllers

All homes have heating systems but most have independent control which is typically in the form of a thermostat on the wall. Thermostat-controlled radiator valves are also fairly common.
